Coleg Cambria has rapidly established itself as a leading UK education provider. It’s one of the largest colleges in the UK, with approximately 7,000 full time students, 20,000 part-time learners and many international links.

The Bersham Road campus in Wrexham offers world-class facilities including a Centre of Excellence for Engineering, home to many of the motor vehicle, manufacturing and building students from entry level to higher education.

Currently undergoing a significant investment project the new construction will provide learners with a two storey ‘Engineering Technology Centre’, as well as further extensions, refurbishments and better parking facilities.

Last year, bott was proud to supply some new workplace storage equipment to the project. We caught up with Kelvin Hand, Trainer/Mentor at the Engineering Department, to see how the process had been for them.

You worked with our partner MSC Industrial Supply, what was it that stood out about MSC?

​“My colleague Martin Metcalfe, who joined the college three years ago, had used MSC in his previous employment.​ Their excellent customer service, wide product offering and expertise meant that we had no hesitation in using them.

It’s important we work with suppliers who can support us with every aspect of our workshop operations. Working with MSC and bott means we can get on with our job, knowing they’ll deliver on what they say and we can trust them to perform.”

Did you utilise the custom design and build option?

“Yes, the combined bott / MSC site survey made choosing the optimum product easy. As manufacturers, bott were also able to provide benches in a special height for us which coupled with the versatile design of the product meant they were suitable for all our different sections.”
